DESIGN CALCULATION FOR THE HVAC SYSTEM

PARAMETER Input Units
Toilet length M
Toilet width M
Toilet height M
Air change per hour AC/Hr.
Note: Number of Air changes required for the toilet is 6-10 as per the clause No.4.1.11 of SES-P-119-19 & clause No.10.11 of SES-K-100. Hence 10 air changes per hour is considered in calculation.

Calculation Results

PARAMETER Result Units
Volume of Toilet Room 13.44
Volume of Toilet Room 475 Ft³
Fan capacity in CFM 79 CFM
Fan capacity in CMH 135 CMH
Pressure loss through the exhaust duct 0.225 in.W.G.
SAY = 0.225 IN W.G (56.5 Pa)

How to use the tool

  1. Enter the toilet length in meters (M).
  2. Enter the toilet width in meters (M).
  3. Enter the toilet height in meters (M).
  4. Enter the air changes per hour (recommended 6-10, default 10).
  5. Results update automatically as you change inputs.
  6. The tool calculates room volume, fan capacity in CFM and CMH, and pressure requirements.

Formula Used

Volume of Toilet Room: V = Length × Width × Height (M³)
Volume in Cubic Feet: V(ft³) = V(M³) × 35.314
Fan Capacity (CFM): CFM = (Room volume in ft³ × Air changes per hour) / 60
Fan Capacity (CMH): CMH = CFM × 1.7
Pressure Loss: Assumed as 0.225 in.W.G (56.5 Pa) for exhaust duct
